Coral bleaching is having severe effects on the Great Barrier Reef. Human-induced climate change, especially the burning of fossil fuels, is causing our ocean temperature to increase. Corals are very sensitive to heat, therefore, a slight increase in the ocean temperature results in the coral bleaching.
